At C2 Barcelona, we love to explore the emotional connections that students have with words. After all, language is not just about memorizing vocabulary—it’s about forming bonds. What’s your favorite Spanish word? Words can evoke emotions, spark memories, and even help you connect with the culture in new ways. Whether it’s a word you love for its sound, one you’ve struggled to pronounce but finally mastered, or a word that brings a special memory to mind, we want to hear about it!

When we ask our students to share their favorite Spanish words, we get a variety of fun and interesting responses—like “mariposa” (butterfly), “ojalá” (hopefully), “chiste” (joke), “maravilloso” (wonderful), “tiquismiquis” (fussy), and “libertad” (freedom). Every word has its own story and meaning, and that’s what makes Spanish so rich.
